The rules of the road.

Bernese is an AI-powered job hunt concierge operated by Bernese Intelligence Labs, Inc. It helps you find roles, tailor your CV and cover letters, submit applications, prepare for interviews, and coach you through offer negotiation.

By creating an account or using Bernese, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current information about yourself, your CV, and your work history.
• Keep your account credentials secure and not share them with anyone else.
• Use Bernese only for your own personal job search.
• Not use the service to send spam, mass unsolicited applications, fraudulent applications, or any communication that misrepresents who you are.
• Comply with the rules of any third-party job board, recruiter, or employer you interact with through Bernese.
• Not reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to disrupt the service.

You're responsible for everything sent or submitted from your account. If you spot unauthorized use, email us immediately.

Bernese is offered as a paid subscription on monthly plans (currently Copilot at $29/month and Autopilot at $39/month). Prices may change; we'll give existing subscribers notice before any change applies to them.

Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period using the payment method on file (processed by Stripe) until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period and you'll keep access until then.

You're responsible for any taxes that apply to your subscription based on your location.

New users may get a 5-day free trial. We collect a payment method at signup but won't charge it until the trial ends.

To avoid being charged, cancel before the end of your 5-day trial. If you continue past day 5, your first subscription period begins automatically and the card on file is charged.

If Bernese isn't working out, we offer a refund within 7 days of your first charge. Email hello@bernese.ai and we'll process it without hassle.

After the 7-day window, subscription fees are non-refundable, but you can cancel any time to stop future charges.

Your data is yours. You retain all rights to your CV, cover letters, application content, and any other personal information you upload. You grant us a limited licence to host, process, and transmit it solely to operate the service for you.

The Bernese platform is ours. The software, design, brand, copy, and underlying technology are owned by Bernese Intelligence Labs, Inc. and protected by copyright and trademark law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service while your account is active.

AI-generated text (cover letters, interview prep, negotiation scripts) created for you is yours to use freely.

Bernese is a tool, not a recruiter or an employer. We do not guarantee interviews, offers, or job placement. Outcomes depend on the job market, the roles you apply to, employer decisions, and how you show up.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We work hard to keep things accurate and reliable, but we don't warrant that AI-generated content will be error-free or that the service will be uninterrupted.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Bernese Intelligence Labs, Inc. and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, or lost data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that can't legally be limited.

You can close your account at any time from settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, abuse the service, or use Bernese in a way that risks harm to other users, employers, or our infrastructure.

On termination, your access ends and we delete your data per our Privacy Policy. Sections of these terms that by their nature should survive (intellectual property, limitation of liability, governing law) will continue to apply.

We may update these terms as the product evolves. For material changes we'll notify you by email or through the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after changes go live means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and Bernese consent to their jurisdiction.

If you're a consumer in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection laws, nothing here removes rights you have under your local law.
